Editorial Policy — How We Research & Review Content

1. Our purpose

PAYATE publishes free developer tools and plain-English guides about payment cards, testing and data formats. Our goal is to help merchants, developers, students and QA testers understand how card systems work using synthetic, non-functional data. Every guide is written to be accurate, practical and easy to follow.

2. How we create content

Content is researched from primary and reputable public sources, including published card-network specifications, the ISO/IEC 7812 numbering standard, official documentation and established industry references. Drafts are written by our team, checked for technical accuracy against these sources, and edited for clarity before publishing. Tool logic (such as the Luhn checksum) is implemented directly from the public standard and tested against known values.

3. Accuracy & corrections

We aim to keep every page correct and up to date. Where a standard, a rate or a card feature changes, we revise the affected pages. If you spot an error, we want to fix it.

Found something inaccurate or out of date? Please contact us and we will review and correct it promptly. Corrections to significant errors are reflected on the page itself.

4. Independence & advertising

Our editorial content is independent of our advertising. Ads and sponsored placements are clearly part of the site's ad slots and never influence the facts we publish or the order in which we present information. Where we compare products, the comparison reflects publicly available features, not payment for placement. Advertising is handled as described in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
