What is an IBAN and what does this tool check?
An IBAN (International Bank Account Number) is a standardized account number used for cross-border payments. This tool checks two things: the country-specific length and the ISO 7064 MOD-97-10 checksum (the two digits after the country code). A pass means the number is format-valid — it does not mean the account exists.
Are the generated IBANs real bank accounts?
No. Generated IBANs are synthetic test data: a random account body with correctly computed check digits, so they pass validation but are not linked to any real bank or account. Use them for testing forms, payment integrations and validation logic only.
Does the tool contact my bank or store the IBAN?
No. All checks run locally for that request. Nothing is sent to a bank or third party and nothing is stored in a database or log.
Which countries are supported?
The validator and generator cover the SEPA zone plus many other countries that use the IBAN standard (60+ country codes), each with its official length. The checksum check works for any valid IBAN country code in the list.
Can I validate many IBANs at once?
Yes. Paste one IBAN per line into the Bulk validate box; each line is normalized (spaces removed) and checked separately for length and checksum.
