Card Checker

Generate random, Luhn-valid test card numbers and check a whole list at once — checksum, card network, length, expiry and CVV — with a simulated demo balance for testing result screens. Everything runs in your browser and nothing is stored.

Test data only. The numbers are random and not real cards. The check is a local format check and the balance is a random simulation — no bank or payment gateway is contacted.

How to use the Card Checker

  1. On Generator, pick a card network (or leave it on random), a quantity and an output format, then click Generate.
  2. Click Send to checker — or open Checker and paste your own list, one card per line.
  3. Click Check. Each line is tested and marked Valid, Invalid or Warning, with the reason in the Details column.
  4. Filter the table, copy the valid cards or export everything to CSV.

Accepted line formats: number|MM|YY|CVV, number|MM|YYYY|CVV, number|MM/YY|CVV, number MM/YY CVV or the number alone, with or without spaces.

What the checker tests

The balance column is a random simulation for demos and UI testing: some format-valid cards show a demo amount between $1.00 and $5.00 and the rest show “No balance”. It is not a real balance. For a single number with issuer details try the Card Validator, for masking and bulk checksum checks the Luhn Checker, and for simulated gateway responses the Mock Payment Sandbox.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Card Checker?

It is a free test card generator and bulk format checker for developers, QA testers and designers. It creates random card numbers that pass the Luhn checksum, then checks a whole list for the checksum, card network, length, expiry date and CVV length. Everything runs in your browser.

Are the generated card numbers real?

No. They are random synthetic numbers that only follow the public numbering format (a network prefix plus a valid Luhn check digit). They are not linked to any bank account, have no funds, and cannot be used for a purchase. They exist to test forms, validation code and checkout screens.

Is the balance shown by the checker real?

No. The balance column is a random simulation: about one in five format-valid cards is given a demo amount between $1.00 and $5.00 and the rest show “No balance”. It changes on every check and is there so you can demo result tables and filters. No card, bank or payment gateway is ever contacted.

What exactly does the checker validate?

Five things: the Luhn (mod-10) checksum, the card network from the leading digits (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, JCB, Diners Club, UnionPay), the number length for that network, whether the expiry date is well-formed and still in the future, and whether the CVV length matches the network (4 digits for Amex, 3 for the others).

Which input formats can I paste?

One card per line. The checker reads number|MM|YY|CVV, number|MM|YYYY|CVV, number|MM/YY|CVV, a number followed by MM/YY CVV, or just the number — with or without spaces and dashes. Commas, semicolons and tabs also work as separators.

Is my data sent anywhere?

No. Generating and checking run entirely in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing you paste is uploaded to a server and nothing is stored.

Can I use these numbers in a payment gateway sandbox?

For sandbox payments use the official test card numbers published by your gateway — the “Official test cards” tab lists the common ones. Gateways only accept their own documented test numbers in test mode; random Luhn-valid numbers are for testing your own form validation.
