Paste a username (facebook.com/name), a profile.php?id=… link, or a group / post / photo link.
How to get the ID from a username
If your link is a username (e.g. facebook.com/zuck) it has no number in it. To get the ID:
- Open the profile in your browser (log in to Facebook if needed).
- Press Ctrl+U to view the page source.
- Press Ctrl+F and search for
"userID"or"entity_id". - The number shown next to it is the profile ID.
Tip: on a profile, click ⋯ → Copy link while viewing it on a phone — Facebook often gives the profile.php?id=… form, which you can paste here directly.

Frequently asked questions
How does this find a Facebook ID?
If your link already contains the number (for example profile.php?id=…, a /groups/…, post or photo link, or a bare number), it is read instantly in your browser. If you paste just a username like facebook.com/zuck, the tool reads the public metadata of that profile or page to look up its numeric ID.
I pasted a username — it says “Facebook blocked this lookup”. Why?
Facebook sometimes rate-limits automated lookups for a little while. It usually works again after a short wait. You can also get the ID instantly with the Ctrl+U steps below, or paste the profile.php?id=… form of the link.
How do I get the ID from a username manually?
Open the profile in your browser (log in to Facebook if asked), press Ctrl+U (View page source), then press Ctrl+F and search for "userID" or "entity_id". The number next to it is the profile ID — paste it back here if you like.
What can I use a Facebook ID for?
The numeric ID is used to set up the Facebook chat / Messenger plugin on a website, Open Graph and app configuration, API calls, and anywhere a stable identifier is needed instead of a username (which a person can change).
Is this private? Does it store my searches?
The tool only reads the public information Facebook already shows for a profile or page, to return the ID for your request. It does not log in and does not sell or publish your searches.
