What are meta tags?
Meta tags are snippets of HTML placed in the <head> of a page that describe it to browsers, search engines and social networks. Common ones include the <title>, <meta name="description">, viewport, charset and robots — they do not appear on the page itself but shape how it is indexed and displayed.
What are Open Graph and Twitter Card tags?
Open Graph (og:) tags tell Facebook, LinkedIn and other platforms how to build the preview card when your link is shared — the title, description, image and site name. Twitter Card (twitter:) tags do the same for X / Twitter, and let you choose a small summary card or a large summary_large_image card.
How long should my title and description be?
Aim for a title of roughly 60 characters and a description of about 155 characters. Search engines truncate longer text, so keeping within those limits ensures your most important words are visible in the results snippet.
Do meta keywords still matter?
Only minimally. Google has ignored the <meta name="keywords"> tag for ranking for many years, so it has little to no SEO value. It is included here for completeness and for the few systems that still read it, but your title, description and page content matter far more.
Is my data stored anywhere?
No. The tags are generated entirely in your browser — nothing you type is uploaded to a server and nothing is stored. You can safely paste in draft content and copy the result.
Where do I paste the generated tags?
Paste them inside the <head> section of your page’s HTML, before the closing </head> tag. Each page should have its own title, description and Open Graph / Twitter tags for the best results.
