SVG to PNG Converter

Turn a scalable SVG into a raster PNG (or JPG): upload a file or paste the code, scale it up for crisp results, and pick a transparent or white background. Everything runs in your browser — your SVG is never uploaded and nothing is stored.

How to convert SVG to PNG

  1. Choose Upload file and pick an .svg, or switch to Paste code and drop in your SVG markup.
  2. Pick a scale (2x or 3x for a sharper, larger image) or type a target width — the height follows automatically to keep the aspect ratio.
  3. Set the background: transparent for PNG, or white if you will export JPG.
  4. Click Render, check the live preview and output dimensions, then download PNG or JPG.

SVG is a vector format, so it has no fixed pixel size; PNG and JPG are raster formats measured in pixels. This tool rasterises your vector at whatever resolution you choose, which is why scaling up stays crisp.

Frequently asked questions

How does the SVG to PNG converter work?

It loads your SVG — either from an uploaded .svg file or from code you paste — into an image, draws it onto an HTML canvas at the size you choose, and exports that canvas as a raster PNG (or JPG). All of this happens in your browser using the native canvas API, with no libraries and no server round-trip.

Is my SVG uploaded anywhere?

No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser — your SVG is never sent to a server and nothing is stored. It is safe for private logos, diagrams and artwork you would not want to transmit.

How do I get a larger, sharper PNG?

Use the scale control (2x or 3x) or set a target width. Because SVG is vector, scaling up stays crisp: the canvas is sized larger before drawing, so the exported PNG has more pixels and looks sharp on high-resolution screens.

What is the difference between transparent and white background?

PNG supports transparency, so by default areas with no fill stay transparent. Choose a white background when you plan to export JPG (which has no transparency) or when you need the image to sit on a light surface without a see-through checkerboard.

Why does my SVG show at the wrong size?

The converter reads the SVG's intrinsic width and height, or its viewBox, to size the canvas. If your SVG declares none of these, a sensible default is used — set a target width to control the output exactly.

Can I convert SVG to JPG as well?

Yes. After rendering you can download either PNG (keeps transparency) or JPG (smaller, no transparency). For JPG, turn on the white background so transparent areas are not filled with black.
