Barcode Generator
Create CODE128, EAN, UPC, CODE39 and more barcodes with custom size and colors, then download them as PNG or SVG. Everything runs in your browser — your data is never sent anywhere and nothing is stored.
How to use the barcode generator
- Type the data you want to encode — a product number, reference code or any text.
- Choose a format. CODE128 handles almost any text; EAN, UPC and ITF-14 are for retail product codes.
- Adjust the bar width, height, text and colors, then download as PNG or SVG.
For reliable scanning, keep dark bars on a light background, leave quiet space around the barcode, and match the format to what your scanner expects.

Frequently asked questions
What is a barcode?
A barcode is a machine-readable pattern of parallel bars and spaces that encodes data such as a product number or reference code. A scanner reads the widths of the bars to recover the value. This tool draws the barcode in your browser so you can download it as an image.
Which barcode formats are supported?
You can generate CODE128 (the default, great for any text), EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC, CODE39, ITF-14, MSI, Pharmacode and Codabar. Pick the one your scanner or workflow expects.
Why do I get an "invalid data" error?
Each format has rules about which characters and how many digits it allows. For example EAN-13 needs 12 or 13 digits and EAN-8 needs 7 or 8, UPC needs 11 or 12 digits, and Pharmacode accepts a number from 3 to 131070. If the data does not fit the chosen format the barcode cannot be drawn.
Is my data sent anywhere?
No. The barcode is rendered entirely in your browser using the JsBarcode library — nothing is uploaded to a server and nothing is stored. It is safe for private reference numbers.
What is the difference between PNG and SVG download?
PNG is a raster image with fixed pixels — ideal for pasting into documents, emails or product listings. SVG is a vector image that stays razor-sharp at any size, which is best for printing large labels or further editing in design software.
Can I change the colors and size?
Yes. You can set the bar width and height, toggle the human-readable text under the barcode, and choose the foreground (bar) and background colors. Keep strong contrast — dark bars on a light background — so scanners read it reliably.
