How to use the currency converter

  1. Type the amount you want to convert.
  2. Choose the currency you are converting from and the one you want to.
  3. Read the converted figure, the current 1-to-1 rate and the date the rate was published.

Rates are live daily mid-market reference rates from the free open.er-api.com service, refreshed every 24 hours. They are a mid-market reference — the exact rate from a bank or card provider will usually differ.

Frequently asked questions

Where do the exchange rates come from?

Rates come from the free open.er-api.com exchange-rate service, which aggregates published rates and refreshes once every 24 hours. They are mid-market reference rates, loaded automatically when the page opens.

Are the rates live and accurate?

They are live daily mid-market reference rates — ideal for estimates, budgeting and general reference. They are not the exact rate a bank or card will give you, which usually includes a margin and fees, so treat the result as an indicative figure.

How many currencies are supported?

Over 160 world currencies, including USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, CHF, CAD, AUD, CNY, INR, AED, EGP and many more. The full list is loaded automatically into the two dropdowns when the page opens.

Is my data sent anywhere?

The only request made is to open.er-api.com to fetch the latest rates once when the page loads. Nothing you enter is stored, and no amounts are logged or shared — conversions after that happen entirely in your browser.

Why does the date shown not match today?

The date is when the rate set you are seeing was last updated. The source refreshes about once a day, so the published date can be the previous day — this is normal for free mid-market data.

Can I convert historical amounts?

This tool uses the latest available rates only. For a quick everyday conversion it is all you need; for historical or contractual figures, always confirm against an official source for the exact date.
