Your IP address is the public number your network uses on the internet — the address shown at the top of this page. Websites you visit see this address (and the country/ISP behind it), which is why it is used for geolocation, rate-limiting and fraud checks.

It is your public (network) address — the one your router/ISP presents to the internet, shared by every device behind it. Your device's private LAN address (like 192.168.x.x) is not visible to websites and is not shown here.

Geo-IP is an estimate based on the network, not GPS. Country is usually right; city can be off, especially on mobile, VPN or business connections.

A VPN or proxy routes your traffic through another server, so sites see that server's IP instead of yours. That is expected behaviour and is one signal used in fraud screening (see the BIN / IP tools).

This page reads your IP only to display it and its public geo details for this request. Nothing is stored in a database or log by this tool. To look up a different address, use IP Address Lookup.
