How to use the Open Graph preview
- Enter the page URL, title, description and an image URL.
- Watch the Facebook/LinkedIn and Twitter/X cards update live, and keep the title near 60 and the description near 155–160 characters.
- Copy the generated meta tags and paste them into your page’s
<head>. Already have tags? Paste the HTML and click Extract to fill the fields.
For the big banner card use a 1200×630 image and set the Twitter card type to
summary_large_image. Use absolute https:// URLs for both the page and the image.

Frequently asked questions
What are Open Graph tags?
Open Graph (OG) tags are <meta> tags in a page’s <head> that tell Facebook, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Slack and other platforms how to show a link: the title, description, image and site name. Without them, platforms guess from the raw HTML and the shared card often looks wrong.
What is the difference between Open Graph and Twitter Card tags?
Open Graph (og:*) is the shared standard used by most networks. Twitter/X also reads its own twitter:* tags and falls back to OG when they are missing. The twitter:card value chooses the layout — summary (small square thumbnail) or summary_large_image (big banner image).
What image size should I use for og:image?
Use a 1200×630 pixel image (a 1.91:1 ratio) for the large-image card — it is the safest size across Facebook, LinkedIn and X. Keep it under about 5 MB, use an absolute https:// URL, and avoid important text near the edges where it may be cropped.
How long should the title and description be?
Aim for a title around 60 characters and a description around 155–160 characters. Longer text is truncated with an ellipsis on most cards. The live preview here shows a character-count hint so you can stay within the limits.
Is my data sent anywhere?
No. The preview and the generated tags are built entirely in your browser from what you type — nothing is uploaded to a server and nothing is stored. The tool does not fetch the pages you enter, so it works even for sites that are not public yet.
Why does my shared link still show the old image?
Platforms cache the preview. After you add or change the tags, re-scrape the URL with the platform’s own debugger (such as Facebook’s Sharing Debugger or LinkedIn’s Post Inspector) to force a refresh. It can also take time for caches to expire naturally.
