Online Timer & Stopwatch

A free countdown timer, lap stopwatch and Pomodoro clock in one tool. Set a timer with a beep, time anything to the centisecond, or run focus sessions — all in your browser, nothing stored.

How to use the timer

  1. Pick a mode: Timer for a countdown, Stopwatch to count up, or Pomodoro for focus cycles.
  2. For the timer, set hours, minutes and seconds — or tap a preset — then press Start. You'll hear a beep and see "Time's up!" at zero.
  3. In the stopwatch, use Lap to record split times. In Pomodoro, the tool auto-switches between focus and breaks and counts your sessions.

The countdown is timestamp-based, so it stays accurate even if the browser throttles a background tab. Sound uses the Web Audio API and only starts after you press Start.

Frequently asked questions

How accurate is the countdown timer?

Very accurate. The timer is timestamp-based: it remembers the moment you pressed Start and compares it to the current time on every tick, so even if your browser throttles the tab in the background the remaining time stays correct and does not drift.

Will the timer make a sound when it finishes?

Yes. When the countdown reaches zero you get a beep generated with the Web Audio API plus a visible "Time's up!" message. Sound is created the first time you press Start — browsers do not allow audio to play before you interact with the page.

What is the Pomodoro mode?

Pomodoro is a focus technique: you work for a 25-minute focus session, then take a 5-minute short break, and after four focus sessions a longer 15-minute break. The tool auto-switches between phases, beeps at each change and counts your completed sessions.

Does the stopwatch record laps?

Yes. The stopwatch counts up with centisecond precision and the Lap button records the current time to a list, so you can capture split times without stopping the clock.

Is my data sent anywhere?

No. Everything runs entirely in your browser. There is no server timing, no account and nothing is stored or uploaded — closing the tab clears everything.

Can I use preset durations?

Yes. The timer has quick presets for 1, 5, 10 and 25 minutes. Tap a preset to fill the fields instantly, or type any combination of hours, minutes and seconds yourself.
