The most common AdSense rejection reasons (and how to fix them)
Google only tells you a broad category when it rejects a site — "Low value content," "Site does not comply with policies," and so on. Here is what those actually mean and what to do about each.
1. Low value / insufficient content
By far the most common reason. Your pages are too few, too short, or too generic. Fix: publish original, in-depth articles (aim for well over 600 words of genuinely useful content per page), and have a solid number of them before applying — not two or three thin pages.
2. Missing required pages
AdSense expects a real, trustworthy site. Fix: add a Privacy Policy (that discloses cookies and third-party ads), plus About, Contact and Terms/Disclaimer pages, linked in the footer.
3. Site not fully built ("needs attention / under construction")
Placeholder text, empty categories, broken links or "coming soon" pages signal an unfinished site. Fix: remove all placeholder content and make sure every page is complete and works before submitting.
4. Copied / scraped content
Content taken from other sites — or spun / low-effort auto-generated text — gets rejected. Fix: publish only original content you wrote yourself.
5. Policy violations
Adult content, illegal material, hacking, copyrighted downloads, and similar categories are prohibited. Fix: remove anything in a restricted category; review Google's publisher policies.
6. Navigation and user-experience problems
A confusing menu, no mobile layout, or a very slow site hurts approval. Fix: add a clear menu, make the site responsive, and improve load speed by compressing images and reducing page weight.
7. Not indexed by Google
If Google can't index your site, it can't approve it. Fix: remove any noindex tags, make sure robots.txt doesn't block crawlers, publish a sitemap, and verify the site in Google Search Console.
8. Site too new (in some regions)
A few countries effectively require the site to be around six months old. Fix: keep publishing quality content and re-apply once the site has matured.
