Frequently asked questions
How do I convert CSV to Excel?
Paste your CSV text or upload a .csv file, check the preview table, then click Download .xlsx. The converter builds a real Excel workbook in your browser and saves it — no sign-up and nothing to install.
How do I convert Excel to CSV?
Switch to the Excel → CSV tab and upload an .xlsx or .xls file. If the workbook has more than one sheet you can pick which one to convert, preview it, then click Download .csv.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript — your spreadsheet is never uploaded to a server and nothing is stored. It is safe for private or confidential data.
What file formats are supported?
For input it reads .csv, .xlsx and the older .xls format. It exports to .xlsx (Excel workbook) and .csv (comma-separated values).
Does it keep multiple sheets?
When you convert an Excel file to CSV, CSV holds only one sheet, so you choose which sheet to export. When you convert CSV to Excel the result is a single-sheet workbook, since a CSV file contains one table.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no fixed limit, but because everything is processed in your browser, very large files depend on your device’s memory. Files up to a few megabytes convert almost instantly on a typical computer.
