IP WHOIS & ASN Lookup

See the official registration of any IP — the network range, CIDR, owning organisation, country, abuse contact and ASN — via RDAP. Leave the box empty for your own IP. Nothing is stored.

About IP registration & ASNs

The internet's address space is handed out by five Regional Internet Registries to ISPs, hosting companies and large organisations in blocks. IP WHOIS shows who a specific address block is registered to, the exact range / CIDR it belongs to, the owner's country and the abuse contact for reporting misuse. The ASN identifies the autonomous system that announces the address on the global routing table — together they tell you exactly which network a given IP belongs to, which is essential for abuse handling, fraud screening and network troubleshooting.

Frequently asked questions

What is IP WHOIS / RDAP?

Every public IP belongs to a block that a Regional Internet Registry (ARIN, RIPE, APNIC, LACNIC, AFRINIC) allocated to an organisation. IP WHOIS (read here over RDAP) shows that registration — the network range, CIDR, network name, the organisation that holds it, its country and the abuse contact.

How is this different from IP Lookup?

The IP Lookup estimates geolocation (country, city, ISP) from a geo-IP database. IP WHOIS shows the official registration of the address block and its ASN — who actually owns and announces it on the internet.

What is an ASN?

An Autonomous System Number identifies a network that announces routes on the internet (an ISP, a cloud provider, a large company). Each public IP is announced by one AS — knowing it tells you which network carries the address.

What is the abuse contact for?

If an IP is attacking or spamming you, the abuse contact is the address the owning network published for reporting it. It is public information from the registry.

Do you store what I look up?

No, nothing is stored. For DNS records use the DNS Lookup, and for geolocation the IP Lookup.
