What is Card Verify?
A quick sandbox tool that checks a single card number's format using the Luhn checksum and identifies the likely scheme (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover). It is for demo and testing only.
Does "valid" mean the card is real or active?
No. "Valid" here means the number passes the Luhn checksum and is well-formed. It does not confirm that a card exists, is active, or has any funds, and it never contacts a bank.
What does it actually check?
The Luhn (mod-10) checksum, plus the leading digits to guess the card scheme. That is all — it is a format check, not an authorization.
Should I enter a real card number?
No. Use only synthetic or sandbox test numbers. Never enter a real card.
How is it different from the Card Validator?
The Card Validator checks many numbers at once and adds BIN bank and country lookup. Card Verify is a quick single-number check.
